Give each chapter a job
Write what the reader gains from the chapter. Look for two chapters that serve the same purpose or leave a necessary step unexplained.
Use the map during drafting
Update the outline when the draft’s structure changes. Keep research gaps visible rather than turning placeholders into confident claims.
