Show a change without hiding it

Wrap text in two tildes on each side to show strikethrough in a renderer that supports the extension.

Keep the replacement visible

Use strikethrough for a small visible correction. Rewrite long passages so readers do not have to reconstruct the final meaning.

Send the draft on ~~Tuesday~~ Wednesday.

Check the Markdown dialect

Strikethrough is a GitHub Flavored Markdown extension. A CommonMark-only renderer can show the tildes. Keep the corrected text readable even without the styling.
