Show a command as text
Wrap a short literal fragment in backticks. Inline code makes commands, filenames, and syntax easier to distinguish from prose.
Show exactly what to type
Use inline code for a fragment within a sentence. Use a fenced block for a multi-line example.
Open `notes.md` and inspect the `##` heading.
When the fragment contains a backtick
Use a longer backtick delimiter around text that already contains backticks. Preview leading and trailing spaces because code spans normalize them.
