Review a replacement across files

Use folder find and replace for a deliberate change across multiple notes. Back up the folder and inspect the matching contexts first.

Keep a recovery path

Back up the folder and close other editors that might change the same files.
Use Command-Option-F and inspect the matches for the exact target text.
Apply the intended replacement. Reopen representative notes and check links, headings, and code.

When the same word has different jobs

A product name in prose may also occur in a URL or filename. Restrict or review those cases instead of applying one replacement indiscriminately.

Backups and history serve different jobs
